December 21st: Mystery
Submitted by Nancy Yeager
Today’s Advent word is “mystery.”
A mystery is something we do not understand. We do not know the “why” or the “how” of it and yet we believe it to be true. Many things fall into this category.
Why do we have Covid19?
What makes the sun rise each morning and how do we know it will continue to do so?
Why do we, as Christians, celebrate the birth of Jesus each Christmas when he was born over 2,000 years ago?
We believe in the Bible and the teachings contained in it. We believe that God created the world even though no human was there to witness it.
Therefore, we believe that Jesus was born of Mary and that he will come again. We celebrate his birth each Christmas in anticipation of his coming.
