High Fives and Fist Bumps
I love this time of year. Fall approaches, sweater weather nears, kids go back to school (!), and our ministries renew their energy. The continuing global pandemic may have us down, but we are a resilient people with many blessings in our community. It is time to celebrate and give thanks. Here are just a few of the wonderful things for you to partake in this Fall:
• Fist Bumps for Children and Youth! Our Children and Youth ministry has been hard a work planning an amazing and covid friendly year. Come get lost in wonder, love and praise with us! We can’t wait to see you in Catechesis, Choirs for Children, Sunday School, EYC, and as we gear up for the Service Trip 2022 (Five blessings!)
• Five more Sundays! Just five more Sundays until our new organ arrives on October 3rd! Everyone, no matter your age, is invited to come and join the festivities on this historic day in our parish life. After 10:30 worship we will help Martin Pasi and his team carry our new organ into its new home. Don’t miss this special day!
• Take Five moments for social justice this Fall. Check out and plan to attend the amazing five-part forum series “From ‘Other’ to Beloved” brought to us by our Racial Reconciliation ministry.
• Bring your high fives and fist bumps to our Parish Picnic on Sunday the 19th. Let us celebrate our good work, re-connect, and re-energize for a great year ahead. If you can lend a hand, see the info below.
• Take five minutes to advocate for the Afghan refugees, the homeless, and those in need. We are happy to help connect you with opportunities.
Friends, Saint George’s is a special place, a place that is special because of you, your talents, and the gifts you share in ministry together. We can’t wait to see you in worship and at our various activities and events this Fall as we rekindle our faith through community. We have important work to do together. Your staff and ministry leaders are working hard to create safe spaces for us to gather as we continue to grow in God’s love and do ministry in the world. We look forward to an amazing Fall at Saint George’s. Come, get lost with us in wonder, love and praise!
Soli Deo Gloria, complete high fives and fist bumps!
