 Overview of the Legacy Circle 

As parishioners of St. George’s, we are called to live as Doers of the Word worshipping God and serving others to build Christ’s Kingdom. As we add to the foundation of our church to benefit future generations and uncharted ministries, we practice meaningful stewardship of all that God has bestowed upon us. 

The St. George’s Legacy Circle recognizes stewards who make financial provisions for the future of this parish. The health and well-being of St. George’s is built upon the generations of saints in our community who have left a legacy intended for the long-term benefit of the church. Anyone can become a member of the Legacy Circle by naming the St. George’s Episcopal Church, Arlington, Virginia in their will or planned gift. Once they make known their intention to St. George’s, they will become a member of the Legacy Circle. Their name(s) will be added to the list of the Legacy Circle members unless they prefer to remain anonymous. 

We are deeply grateful to Legacy Circle Members who show their devotion to St. George’s and their faith in this parish. 

Reasons Why You Might Want To Leave A Legacy Gift to Saint George’s

Wherever you are in your life’s journey, Saint George’s is your spiritual home, giving you “comfort and solace” that you’ll find nowhere else. The warmth you feel from your fellow parishioners, the connection you feel with God’s presence, and the goodness you feel when you help in our ministries – all of these deserve to be shared with the people we worship with now and those in years ahead. A legacy or planned gift will enable you to provide support to St. George’s both now and in years to come. And joining the Legacy Circle allows us to recognize your gift while you are alive to celebrate with us! Legacy gifts come in all sizes – we have had bequests of dollars and a collection of beads (a collection whose value made a sizeable contribution to the church). A legacy gift is your way of sharing some of your assets with the Saint George’s community that nurtures you. As the church does not budget for legacy gifts, we use them to do extraordinary things we could not do with the operating budget (largely pledges/annual gifts) alone.
